Seva Sadan Society’s High School organized a heartfelt Alumni Meeting, bringing together a vibrant group of past students with a shared sense of enthusiasm and commitment to their alma mater. The event was filled with discussions, inspiring speeches, and a shared vision for the future of the school.
The meeting began with a warm and welcoming speech by Mrs. Snehal Patil, who introduced the current Principal, Mrs. Mahadwar. Mrs. Patil spoke fondly of the positive changes implemented under Mrs. Mahadwar’s leadership, particularly the significant step of introducing co-education at the school. This forward-thinking decision was highlighted as one of the transformative changes that not only modernized the school’s approach, but also opened doors to greater opportunities for students.
Mrs. Patil then outlined the two main objectives of the Alumni Meeting:
Formation of an Alumni Association in line with the guidelines set by the New Education Policy 2020. It aims to bring together alumni to contribute to the development of the school.
Encouraging Alumni Participation: The school hopes to encourage more alumni to actively engage in various activities, whether it be through mentoring, workshops, or other forms of support that contribute to the growth of the current student body.
Following Mrs. Patil’s address, Principal Mrs. Mahadwar took the stage and elaborated on the vision and objectives behind the formation of the Alumni Association. She spoke about the school’s ongoing efforts to enhance various aspects of education, infrastructure, and extracurricular activities. The Principal emphasized how important alumni contributions would be in these areas, particularly in helping to bridge the gap between past and present students, creating opportunities for learning and development.
The alumni present responded enthusiastically, eager to give back to the school that had helped shape their lives. They expressed a strong desire to support the school in meaningful ways. Many alumni suggested conducting workshops and classes in diverse subjects, ranging from remedial teaching, arts, crafts, dance, coding, calligraphy, drawing, and photography. This wide array of subjects reflects the alumni’s diverse skills and their eagerness to contribute in areas that would benefit both the students and the school.
Mr. Marathe, a key figure in the event, explained the different functions of the Alumni Association. He encouraged the former students to not only contribute their knowledge and time but also to help increase student enrollment, thus ensuring the school’s continued growth and success.
Mrs. More then offered valuable guidance on how to formally establish the Alumni Association. With her help, an official Alumni Committee was created. The committee consists of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Vice Secretary, and ten other enthusiastic members, all of whom are ready to take on the responsibilities of supporting and growing the school community.
To facilitate smooth communication and future activities, an Alumni WhatsApp group was created, enabling alumni to stay connected and share ideas. Additionally, a Google Form was circulated to keep track of alumni contributions, ensuring that all efforts are well-documented and organized for future initiatives.
The event also featured a touching poetic presentation by Mr. Gawande, who expressed his gratitude to the students and offered further motivational guidance to inspire them to stay involved with the school. His words served as a reminder of the lasting impact the school and its alumni have on each other.
The event saw a total of 25 alumni in attendance, all of whom left the meeting inspired and determined to contribute to the school’s ongoing development. The meeting concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, and attendees were treated to snacks, fostering further networking and camaraderie among old friends.
Overall, the Seva Sadan Society Alumni Meeting was a resounding success. It not only brought together a strong and committed group of alumni but also set the stage for future collaboration and growth, ensuring that the school’s journey continues to be marked by progress, unity, and a deep sense of community.
