Three Vibrant Months at Seva Sadan: Learning, Celebration, and Empowerment in 2026
As 2026 began, the halls of Seva Sadan Society once again filled with the energy and sounds that define our institution — laughter, learning, celebration, and the quiet determination of young minds shaping their futures. The first three months of the year have been a beautiful reminder that life under Seva Sadan’s roof is always alive with activity, purpose, and possibility.
A Joyful Beginning to 2026
January opened with warmth, joy, and community spirit as the home girls welcomed the New Year with a vibrant celebration. Representatives from Taj Lands End and visiting students from Georgetown University joined us for a day filled with music, dance, and traditional games such as housie and kho-kho. The festive atmosphere created a wonderful opportunity for interaction, friendship, and shared laughter — a truly memorable start to the year.
Curiosity and Confidence at the Gyan Mela
Early in the month, our girls also participated in the Gyan Mela, organized by the NGO Our Children. With participation from 25 institutions, the event offered a dynamic platform for students to present innovative ideas and projects. The Seva Sadan girls presented models on topics such as Adulteration in Food, Wealth Management, and the Journey of a Product. Their thoughtful presentations demonstrated not only academic understanding but also confidence and communication skills. The experience proved enriching, encouraging scientific curiosity and empowering the girls to share their knowledge with a wider audience.
Empowering Women Through Skill Development
January also brought a proud milestone as eight inspiring women from the Usha Silai Advanced Batch received their certification. This achievement represents far more than the mastery of sewing techniques. It symbolizes independence, confidence, and the possibility of building small businesses with big dreams. Each stitch learned is a step toward financial empowerment and self-reliance.
Celebrating Creativity and Academic Achievement
The English School Annual Project Day transformed classrooms into a vibrant showcase of creativity and experiential learning. From carefully designed charts to fully working models, students displayed projects that reflected curiosity, innovation, and teamwork.
Another highlight of the month was the Annual Day celebration of the Marathi schools, which filled the hall with energy, performances, and pride as students celebrated their talents and achievements.
A particularly emotional moment came with the farewell of the first SSC batch from Seva Sadan’s English School. Eighteen smiling students gathered for their farewell celebration, marking an important milestone in their academic journeys. A heartfelt gratitude speech by Rutu reflected the excitement and hope of stepping into the world beyond school, while a touching farewell moment came when Class 9 student Sarthak sang a friendship song in Nepali for his graduating seniors.
Learning New Skills in February
February continued the momentum with the launch of a new Usha Silai Basic Sewing Class. The enthusiasm among participants was inspiring. Within just the first five sessions, the women had already learned:
- Machine operation and foundational stitching
- Baby garments such as knickers and jablas
- Cutting and stitching saree petticoats
- Simple dresses and even a fancy one-piece design
Their dedication and quick progress demonstrate how powerful skill-building initiatives can be in nurturing confidence and creativity.
Celebrating Sports and Digital Skills
The Annual Sports Day brought energy and excitement to campus as students participated in various games and athletic events, celebrating teamwork, discipline, and the joy of physical activity.
Meanwhile, our MS Office training program concluded successfully with a certification ceremony for the home girls who completed the course. The event was attended by Mr. Anuj from Datamatics, the organization that continues to support Seva Sadan as a valued donor. The program equips students with essential digital skills that will help them navigate academic and professional opportunities with confidence.
Honouring Language and Culture
At Ramabai Navrange Junior College of Education, students celebrated Marathi Rajbhasha Gaurav Din with enthusiasm through a series of engaging programs. The celebration highlighted the importance of language, culture, and heritage while fostering pride in Marathi as the state language.
Encouraging Scientific Thinking
March began with a meaningful celebration of National Science Day, organized by the second-year D. El. Ed teacher-students. Members of the Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samity — Mr Anil Parab and Smt. Archana Sonawane — delivered insightful lectures on Indian rituals and scientific attitude, encouraging students to examine traditions with a rational and scientific perspective. The event also featured student science projects and a lively quiz competition, followed by a thoughtful debate forum on online versus offline learning, prompting participants to explore the evolving landscape of education.
A Community in Motion
These past three months have once again shown that Seva Sadan is far more than an institution — it is a living community where learning, empowerment, and celebration unfold every single day. From classrooms to sewing studios, from science exhibitions to cultural celebrations, the spirit of growth never pauses here. Each activity, each milestone, and each smile is a reminder of the mission that has guided Seva Sadan for generations: to educate, empower, and uplift. And if the first three months of 2026 are any indication, the year ahead promises even more inspiration, opportunity, and success for everyone under the Seva Sadan roof.
