Today, our school celebrated Marathi Language Pride Day with great enthusiasm. The celebration began with our Principal, Yogita Mahadar, garlanding the portrait of Kusumagraj, the iconic figure in Marathi literature and Dnyanpith Award winner.
The students, led by Maithili Kalekar from the 9th grade, took the Marathi language pledge, expressing pride in their mother tongue. Mr. Gawande shared memorable anecdotes and poems by Kusumagraj, inspiring the students, followed by Mrs. More who recited the famous poem “KANA” by Kusumagraj, and spoke about the importance of reading and its impact on language and culture. A few of our students delivered speeches, while a 7th grade ensemble delivered a special performance of the song “Maiboli,” adding to the festive atmosphere.
The English students too celebrated with great enthusiasm. Children from the Secondary section presented a small skit about the importance of the Marathi language, and students from the Primary section presented a ‘Powada’, spreading awareness about the harmful effects of mobile phones.
