about sevasadan

For over a hundred years that the Seva Sadan Society has been in existence, thousands of women have passed through its portals to a better life and a successful future.

Some of the old residents of the Seva Sadan Home have lived here continuously for over 60 years. As long as their health permits, they are encouraged to actively participate in the running of the Home.

With changing times, the Society considered it necessary to shift its focus to the underprivileged girl child living amidst poverty, domestic violence, a broken home or is orphaned.

It is to provide asylum for girls like these that the Society opened its Home to both girls and women where they would not only be sheltered and cared for and their emotional needs looked after, but would also get good nutrition, healthcare and education.

about sevasadan

The institution has evolved from providing refuge to unfortunate women, to embracing an ideology of empowerment of girls and women through education, enrichment programmes, vocational training and overall personality development, in order to equip them to be self-reliant and economically independent.

As part of our vision for the future, we believe in a holistic approach towards the overall development of the girls. We continuously update and improve the social, educational and training programmes which are in keeping with times: be it proficiency in the field of computers, in the realm of science, the arts, or sports. We believe that our girls, when they leave Seva Sadan, should be equipped to meet the challenges of the real world.
